Job summary

Flex in Reynosa, Mexico is seeking a Mold Maker Leader to supervise maintenance and tooling operations for injection molds. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead Toolmakers, coordinate preventive/predictive maintenance, and support new mold launches and engineering changes.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering degree, experience with injection molding tooling, strong English communication, and proven leadership.

Qualifications

• Intermediate English proficiency required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience in injection molding tooling, mold maintenance, or tooling operations, preferably in automotive.
• Experience leading technical personnel and coordinating tooling maintenance activities.
• Experience in preventive/predictive/corrective maintenance programs for injection molds.
• Experience supporting mold transfers, new tool launches, engineering changes, and validation activities.
• Experience troubleshooting mold-related injection issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and stakeholders.
• Strong report writing, presentation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop Toolmakers.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise maintenance activities for injection molds to ensure availability and reliability.
• Lead Toolmakers in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance per procedures and safety requirements.
• Develop and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programs and mold histories.
• Manage mold repair priorities and resources to minimize downtime and support production.
• Support new mold launches, transfers, and engineering changes to meet requirements.
• Analyze mold failures, lead root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions.
• Promote improvements to increase tool life and product quality; reduce costs.
• Maintain mold spare parts inventory and essential documentation.
