Lead JAVA Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Lead Software Engineer (Java) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you are expected to develop and own moderate to complex components. Beyond technical work, you may also lead a small team or spearhead a project.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to delivering multiple feature implementations on client projects.
• Understands different types of programming methodologies (functional vs. object-oriented, imperative vs. declarative) and scenarios where each would be applicable.
• Can optimize SQL schemas and understand NoSQL solutions and trade-offs involved.
• Mentor and guide team members, ensuring high code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and designers to deliver innovative digital solutions.
• Architect and implement microservices and APIs with performance and security in mind.
• Advocate for Agile principles, helping the team manage sprints, prioritize tasks, and adapt to change.
• Reviews code and can mentor others about project-specific code quality and design guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer

• Proven leadership skills in mentoring development teams.

• Proficiency in:

• Languages: Java (Spring Boot-Spring)

• Databases: (SQL/NoSQL).

• Architecture: Microservices, design patterns, API design.

• CI/CD & DevOps: Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Git, CI/CD pipelines, and how to use the corresponding services on the major cloud platforms.

• Solid understanding of Agile (Scrum, Kanban) processes.

• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Knowledge of testing frameworks such as JUnit, Selenium.

• Familiarity with serverless architectures and event-driven systems.
