HARMAN is seeking a senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) leader to drive industrialization and manufacturing standards across projects. You will partner with development and operations teams to design cost-effective assembly processes, estimate equipment needs, and ensure on-time project delivery with global collaboration.

You will manage budgets, work with QA on improvements, and travel up to 25% to support multiple sites, including an office in Tijuana, Mexico.

Formación

• BA/BS degree required; MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
• 6+ years of AME experience in manufacturing.
• Strong analytical skills with data-driven mindset.
• Knowledge of software and hardware development processes.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Fluent in English; willingness to work in a global, cross-functional environment.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the AME organization and define roles within Operations from the AME perspective.
• Oversee end-to-end AME operations processes across the Professional Solution domain.
• Be the first point of contact for development teams and drive process improvements with Quality.
• Develop cost estimates for equipment during NPI and industrialization phases.
• Recommend assembly equipment and processes to meet project capabilities and cost targets.
• Coordinate standardization across sites and share lessons learned to improve efficiency.

On top of running business-related support, participation in lighting and signal processing products launches is key. The AME engineering team is involved in the early phases of new product development to determine capital and labor estimates and also drives design for manufacturing to ensure new products meet quality and cost targets. Under the direction of the Manager, the AME process groups will develop manufacturing plans to industrialize a new product. Industrialization includes the determination of manufacturing assembly processes required to build, planning, purchasing the JIG-s; excising the fixture, and any other (by development defined) test equipment. Has to be the main contact between operations/plants and development. What You Will Do Lead the AME organization Define roles and responsibilities within operations from the AME point of view Lead AME operations process end-to-end in the entire organization of Professional Solution Be the first line of contact for development Work out processes with quality about complain related improvements Build, maintain, and improvea continuous improvement system Provides cost estimation for equipment during the new product introduction phase Develops recommendations to the Project Team for the best assembly equipment and processes to efficiently meet the capabilities as defined by Project Management Share concepts with other involved sites to ensure standardization and consider lessons learned Build up, work out a process to ensure new products are designed to minimize the manufacturing cost and align with process capability, taking into account lessons learned Support equipment ordering, installation, start-up, and ramp-up globally on other involved sites. Support equipment readiness based on project milestones Support the R&D team to implement CV, EV, and DV built in the factory, proactively study the HARMAN customized components manufacturing process, and fully support PV and MP build Develop equipment for serial condition and to basis business case, supporting other manufacturing sites Continuously monitor and evaluate new processes, technologies in connection with new products to assure the most efficient industrialization to meet with basis business case Drives Industrialization and manufacturing standards for optimization projects Review of the readiness ofthe operation for projects In case of development delay, find solutions with development for the solution from the HW point of view Manage department budgets for the entire group, including compensation, benefits, and expenses. What You Need to Be Successful BA/BS Degree; MBA or Master’s degree preferred 6+ years of experience in the AME role in manufacturing Test process definition experience is welcomed Strong analytical skills Knowledge in the SW and HW development process Very good people, communication, and collaboration management Fluent English knowledge Capability, willingness to work in a worldwide, cross-functional environment.
