Formación

  • Over 7 years of experience in a Maquiladora electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of kanban and supplier-managed inventories is a plus.
  • Experience in inventory management, including reducing excess stock.

Lead Buyer

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain daily interaction with supply base to ensure the use of current information regarding open PO’s, lead times, pricing, etc.
  • Minimize risk to the company and customers by utilizing data-based analysis to select suppliers for purchasing materials for production and NPI.
  • Create and execute PO’s according to MRP Planned Orders and Requisition procedures, ensuring competitive pricing to maintain profitability.
  • Identify and develop new suppliers to improve supply chain aspects such as pricing and delivery.
  • Approve invoices for payment following departmental guidelines.
  • Expedite delivery of goods and use alternative sources if necessary.
  • Collaborate with supply chain management to set and achieve cost savings goals.
  • Use MRP action messages weekly to manage orders and schedules.
  • Maintain accurate MRP data for open PO’s, including promise dates, pricing, and quantities.
  • Coordinate supplier updates in the ERP system regarding pricing, lead times, and other specifications.
  • Work with Quality Assurance on MRB's and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers.
  • Partner with Accounting to resolve accounts payable issues.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining department KPIs and reports such as PPV and expedite lists.
  • Manage specific commodities and suppliers.
  • Represent the department in internal meetings and present purchasing achievements.
  • Manage purchasing activities related to cost, inventory, delivery, and quality.
  • Coordinate with Quality personnel to resolve supplier quality issues effectively and timely.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Administration.
  • Over 7 years of experience, preferably in a Maquiladora electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Bilingual proficiency.
  • Knowledge of kanban and supplier-managed inventories is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Track record of controlling external spend and developing a strong supplier base.
  • Experience in inventory management, including reducing excess and obsolete stock.
  • Innovative approach to procurement activities.
  • Familiarity with modern procurement techniques.
  • Experience purchasing bespoke, manufactured parts with scheduled deliveries.
  • Experience working with MRP systems is essential.
  • Experience outsourcing to low-cost countries.
