Mastercard's CNPF Data & AI organization is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to help build the next generation of intelligent, agentic products and platforms powering the Mastercard Virtual C‑Suite. This is a hands‑on technical leadership role blending software fundamentals with production‑ready AI systems.

You will lead design and delivery of secure, scalable AI-enabled services, collaborating with Applied AI, Data Science, Product, Security and Platform teams to move from concept to governed

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
• +10 years software engineering experience building scalable, secure production systems and leading complex initiatives end to end.
• Hands‑on experience building AI powered products or agentic apps using LLMs and orchestration patterns.
• Strong understanding of agentic system design, including planning, reasoning loops, and workflow orchestration.
• Experience taking AI solutions from prototype to production with reliability, observability, latency, and security.
• Experience with modern AI frameworks, SDKs, and tooling for building AI apps, agent workflows, and developer productivity.
• Strong programming skills in Java or Python, with production‑ready code.
• Experience with front-end frameworks like React/Next.js for intuitive product experiences.
• Experience building services in cloud‑native environments using Kubernetes and managed cloud services.
• Good understanding of APIs, distributed systems, data pipelines, and enterprise integration.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, DevSecOps, and engineering automation.
• Practical experience using AI coding and engineering assistants to increase productivity.
• Strong background in software security including authentication, authorization, encryption, and threat modeling.
• Proven ability to create reusable platforms and acceleration capabilities.

Responsabilidades

• Lead hands‑on architecture, design, and implementation of agentic apps and AI powered services.
• Define engineering patterns and best practices for production AI systems with guardrails and resiliency.
• Drive end‑to‑end software delivery across the SDLC from discovery to production operations.
• Improve developer workflows, automation, test generation, and release quality with AI tools.
• Collaborate with Product, Applied AI, Data Science, and stakeholders to translate opportunities into scalable capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership through architectural decisions, code reviews, and mentoring.
• Build secure, maintainable cloud‑native services with observability and performance readiness.
• Shape technical roadmaps and influence architecture decisions for scale and reuse.
• Work across teams to solve complex business and engineering problems with practical solutions.
• Keep senior stakeholders informed of progress, risks, and decisions.
