Corning Incorporated is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to drive AI-enabled solutions for Corning Optical Communications. You will lead architecture, guide engineers, and partner with business stakeholders to deliver scalable AI applications, agents, and integrations.

You will define patterns, support Agile delivery, and translate complex business needs into practical AI roadmaps while working in a hybrid setup across Monterrey or Reynosa.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field and equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of software, AI engineering, or related leadership experience.
• Strong background in Python, APIs, integrations, and AI-enabled solutions.
• Experience guiding engineers, defining architecture, and delivering complex projects.
• Familiarity with Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, prompt engineering, and AI workflows.
• Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and execute in Agile environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and English communication skills.

Are you ready to lead the development of enterprise AI solutions that create real business impact? Join Corning's COC Digital & IT team and help define the technical direction, architecture, and delivery approach for scalable AI-enabled applications, tools, and integrations.

What is your role?

As a Lead AI Engineer, you will provide technical leadership for the design, development, and delivery of AI-enabled solutions for Corning Optical Communications. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who can guide engineers, define architecture, support Agile delivery, and help bring practical AI capabilities into enterprise environments. You will work closely with AI Engineers, Senior AI Engineers, technical teams, and business stakeholders to build scalable applications, integrations, agents, tools, and user-friendly AI solutions that support business transformation and OPEX optimization. Major responsibilities and tasks of the position:

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction, architecture, and delivery approach for AI-enabled applications, tools, agents, workflows, and integrations.
• Guide AI Engineers and Senior AI Engineers through solution design, development, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and implementation. -
• Define scalable and supportable integration patterns using Python, APIs, LLM-enabled applications, models, and enterprise platforms.
• Partner with technical and business stakeholders to translate business needs into practical AI solutions and delivery roadmaps.
• Support Agile practices, engineering standards, reusable patterns, and continuous improvement across AI initiatives.

What do you need to have?

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in software engineering, AI engineering, application development, automation, integration development, technical leadership, or related roles.
• Strong technical background with Python, application development, APIs, JSON payloads, integrations, models, or LLM-enabled applications.
• Experience leading technical solution delivery, defining architecture, or guiding engineers through complex projects.
• Familiarity with Generative AI, LLMs, chatbots, AI agents, RAG concepts, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted workflows.
• Knowledge of Agile methodology and ability to support planning, prioritization, delivery, and technical execution.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across technical teams and business partners.
• Advanced English communication skills.
