Job Description: Last Mile Expansion Manager
Salary Range: $55,000 MXN - $65,000 (gross salary)
Location: Mexico City (Office and Warehouse)
About CUBBO
CUBBO is a venture-backed ecommerce fulfillment company transforming logistics across Latin America. With headquarters in Mexico City, we pride ourselves on delivering a world-class experience for our clients through cutting-edge technology, exceptional service, and relentless customer focus.
As part of our mission to dominate the ecommerce landscape in Latin America, we’re building a robust operations team to ensure seamless fulfillment experiences. If you are customer-oriented, data-driven, and passionate about solving operational challenges, this role is for you.
The Role: Last Mile Expansion Manager
We are looking for a highly driven Carrier Expansion Manager to lead our last-mile expansion initiatives. You will be responsible for rapidly launching and scaling last-mile carrier infrastructure — including new cross-docks, delivery hubs, and regional routes — across Mexico.
This is a field-first, execution-driven role. You’ll spend more time at cross-docks, talking to drivers and operators, than in meetings. You will be instrumental in enabling Cubbo to grow its delivery network cost-effectively and sustainably, while ensuring high performance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Expansion Projects: Rapidly launch new cross-docks, delivery hubs, and distribution nodes across strategic geographies in Mexico.
- Hands-On Operations: Be on the ground setting up new sites, negotiating with local vendors, hiring and onboarding operators, and ensuring operational readiness from Day 1.
- Team Leadership: Hire, coach, and manage cross-dock teams and supervisors. Build a strong, performance-oriented culture that values safety, ownership, and accountability.
- Stakeholder Management: Build trust with drivers, vendors, and field staff. Handle operational escalations, resolve conflicts, and maintain team morale during high-growth and high-pressure phases.
- Cost & Risk Management: Evaluate operational and financial risks when launching new nodes. Maintain an agile but data-informed approach to opening new locations.
- KPI Execution: Track and improve key performance indicators including delivery time, cost per package, site readiness timelines, and service quality.
Who You Are
- Operator First: You thrive in execution. You move fast, solve problems, and know how to make things happen on the ground.
- Strong Communicator: Whether it’s with a delivery driver or a senior vendor, you speak their language and earn their trust.
- Resilient & Resourceful: You’re unafraid of ambiguity or setbacks. You know how to keep moving when plans change or problems arise.
- Leadership Mindset: You know how to hire, fire, train, and develop frontline teams. People respect you because you care and demand excellence.
Who You Are Not
- You have never worked in logistics or last-mile operations.
- You prefer to be in the office all day and don’t enjoy being out in the field.
- You avoid or dislike managing frontline teams and operators.
- You’re uncomfortable with traveling frequently to different parts of Mexico.
- You prefer planning and strategy over direct execution and accountability.
- You struggle to make decisions under pressure or in fast-moving environments.
Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience expanding and managing last-mile operations — especially opening cross-docks or logistics hubs.
- Industry experience at companies like Amazon, Mercado Libre, Estafeta, DHL, or regional logistics carriers in Mexico is a big plus.
- Comfortable working with dashboards and operational KPIs. Need for advanced analytics — you must be able to evaluate numbers and take action.
- Willingness to travel regularly to new locations within Mexico.
- Spanish fluency required; English proficiency is a plus.
