International SOS Government Medical Services is seeking a Laboratory Technician to collect, process, and report specimens for approved testing on Diego Garcia. You will maintain equipment, follow QA/QC procedures, and support occupational and clinical screening within the island laboratory framework.

This full-time role requires relocation to Diego Garcia for the assignment duration, with responsibilities including specimen handling, test coordination, and documentation in the electronic health

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Laboratory Technician or equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to relocate to Navy Support Facility Diego Garcia for the duration of the assignment.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English for effective communication.

Responsabilités

• Receive, identify, label, collect when authorized, and process specimens for approved laboratory testing and clinical screening.
• Perform or coordinate basic tests within authorized scope, report results to clinical personnel, and document findings in approved forms and the electronic health record.
• Complete user-level maintenance, equipment serviceability and calibration checks, escalate faults or quality concerns.
• Follow laboratory procedures, quality controls, infection-prevention protocols, and proper medical waste handling.
• Monitor consumables and supply availability, communicate replenishment needs, support clinical screening with other healthcare professionals.
