SKF Automotive seeks a Laboratories Coordinator to lead Metrology, Calibration, and Metallography Laboratories, ensuring compliance with automotive standards while supporting operational excellence.

The role offers the opportunity to lead a highly skilled technical team and influence manufacturing quality, directly contributing to the reliability of products used by leading automotive manufacturers worldwide.

Formación

  • 5+ years of experience in metrology and bearing evaluation.
  • Knowledge of heat treatment, machining, grinding, and assembly processes.
  • Experience in calibration of measuring instruments.
  • Proven ability to supervise technical staff and lead teams.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead and coordinate the Laboratories, ensuring efficient operation and compliance with corporate and customer requirements.
  • Ensure the reliability, accuracy, and traceability of all measuring systems and laboratory equipment.
  • Manage calibration programs for measuring and control devices.
  • Support manufacturing and quality teams through dimensional analysis, metallographic evaluations, and technical investigations.
  • Lead laboratory personnel, promoting technical development, teamwork, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards, including IATF 16949, ISO 9001, VDA 6.3, and BIQ requirements.
  • Drive problem-solving activities using 8D methodology and support root cause analysis for quality issues.
  • Participate in APQP activities, PPAP approvals, MSA studies, SPC implementation, FMEA reviews, and Control Plan development.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives focused on laboratory performance, process capability, and customer satisfaction.

We are looking for a Laboratories Coordinator to lead our Metrology, Calibration, and Metallography Laboratories, ensuring compliance with global automotive standards while supporting operational excellence and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and coordinate the Laboratories, ensuring efficient operation and compliance with corporate and customer requirements.

Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
Language
  • Advanced Business English.
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience:
  • Specialized experience in metrology and bearing evaluation.
  • Knowledge of heat treatment, machining, grinding, and assembly processes.
  • Experience in calibration of measuring instruments.
  • Proven ability to supervise technical staff effectively and lead teams.
Technical Knowledge
  • Management of laboratories: metrology, calibration of control devices, and metallographic evaluation.
  • Strong understanding of quality standards and systems: IATF 16949, ISO 9001, VDA 6.3, BIQ.
  • Solid knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
  • Proficiency in Core Tools: MSA, APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA, PCP.
  • Experience with 8D problem-solving methodology.
  • Advanced interpretation of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
