Merit Medical Systems, Inc. in Tijuana, Mexico is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to support safety programs in a high-volume manufacturing setting.

You will plan, implement and audit EHS initiatives, conduct training, and ensure regulatory compliance across processes. The role requires strong communication, training, and organizational skills, with experience in incident management and environmental monitoring.

Formación

• Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Health and Safety, or related field.
• Three years of work related environmental, health and safety experience, including injured worker health care paperwork processing.
• EHS experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.
• Good training skills and the ability to train employees on various EHS issues.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner while meeting deadlines.
• Familiar with environmental monitoring equipment such as air quality.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations.
• Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with planning, formulating and revising safety programs and rules; assess hazardous conditions and recommend changes.
• Conduct EHS training including accident prevention, regulatory compliance and emergency preparedness.
• Perform incident management reviews and track injuries to completion.
• Coordinate hazardous, universal and recyclable wastes handling processes and pickups.
• Collect samples and submit to testing labs; process results as needed.
• Perform environmental and safety audits, inspections and report findings.
• Ensure compliance with local government regulations and report needed findings.
• Record findings in EHS systems and follow up on corrective actions.
• Assist with investigating incidents to identify root causes and resolution.
• Perform other related duties as required.
