Job summary

Syntax is seeking a Junior Security Engineer in Mexico to join the Security Engineering team. This hands-on role supports PAM deployment and ongoing security platform administration, with a focus on CyberArk.

The successful candidate will work with Windows and Linux servers, AD, and various security tools, growing under senior engineers. English communication and strong organization are essential, with opportunities for certification and career advancement.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of IT/security-related experience.
• Windows and Linux server administration.
• Active Directory concepts, including users, groups, permissions, and authentication.
• Foundational networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls) and core security principles.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
• Proficiency in English with strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and take ownership of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist deployment and administration of CyberArk PAM, including onboarding privileged accounts.
• Monitor health and availability of security platforms and troubleshoot issues.
• Handle service requests and incidents via the ticketing system.
• Participate in patching, upgrades, and routine maintenance of security tools.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, operations, and SOC to enforce security policies.
• Support audit and compliance activities with evidence, reports, and documentation.
• Participate in incident response activities as directed.
• Create and maintain documentation, including procedures and troubleshooting guides.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve team workflows.
