Vertiv Co is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to advance new product development for global thermal products. You will design mechanical and thermal systems, create parts and assemblies in CAD, and drive from concept to launch with hands-on execution.

You’ll work cross-functionally across Marketing, Manufacturing, Service and Quality, support prototypes, test performance, and implement improvements based on data and field feedback.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Basic working knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts, products and safety.
• Experience with CAD tools: Solid Edge, Creo, SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with data-entry systems (Oracle, Agile).
• Strong troubleshooting, detail orientation, planning, documentation and communication.
• Ability to multitask and work in cross-functional global development teams.

Responsabilidades

• Create/modify mechanical parts, assemblies and drawings in CAD systems (Creo/Solid Edge).
• Create and maintain BOMs and unit configurator logic based on customer options.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Manufacturing, Service and Quality to meet requirements.
• Assist with prototype builds and provide technical guidance.
• Incorporate feedback from prototype tests and field trials into design improvements.
• Troubleshoot escalated field issues and support problem solving.
• Coordinate performance testing in the lab and analyze test data to improve performance.
• Conduct thermal system modeling to assess performance and select components.
• Define controls routines to optimize system operation per customer needs.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Mechanical Engineer supports new product development for the company’s Thermal global products. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the physical design and/or thermal system design of new products. This engineer must be a practical hands‑on type of engineer who can start with an abstract concept and see it through to product launch.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Creates/modifies mechanical Parts/Assemblies/drawings in CAD systems, such as Creo and/or Solid Edge.
• Create and maintain Bill of Materials and unit configurator logic to select the correct BOM’s based on options selected by the customer.
• Works with Marketing, Manufacturing, Service and Quality to understand their requirements to design a product that best meets all of their needs.
• Assist with prototype builds by providing technical support and providing guidance when issues arise.
• Gather feedback from prototype builds and field trials and implement appropriate improvements to the product.
• Understands the products, suggest ideas and improvements.
• Assists with troubleshooting of escalated or re-occurring field issues.
• Coordinate performance testing in the lab.
• Analyze test data, diagnose issues and determine changes to improve performance.
• Thermal system modeling to determine performance and correct part selection.
• Determine controls routines needed to make system operate optimally and to meet customer requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Basic working knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts, products and safety.
• Basic mechanical CAD tools experience- Solid Edge, Creo, Solid Works.
• Experience with Sheetmetal, piping and assemblies is a plus.
• Data‑entry systems familiarity - Oracle, Agile, etc.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) a wide range of problems quickly and methodically.
• Detail oriented.
• Excellent planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and operate in cross functional global development teams.

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to work in the lab or production facility to diagnose and solve problems.

TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED

• Regular local travel between Office/Lab/production facilities and minimal travel (<5%) to customer sites.
