A global provider of clinical research services is looking for a Vendor Category Manager based in Mexico, Estado de México. This role focuses on vendor performance management and proactive oversight in clinical studies. Candidates should have 3-5 years of relevant experience and good knowledge of clinical trial regulations. Formación

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, including over 1 year of project management or equivalent education.

  • Understanding of applicable clinical research regulatory requirements.

Summary

Vendor Category Managers provide an essential component of the end-to-end vendor management solution that reduces risk to our company and projects, while maximizing value for both IQVIA and our customers.

The Vendor Category Manager will provide proactive clinical vendor oversight on assigned studies and be the primary contact for vendor advice and expertise. They will focus on vendor performance management, governance, consolidation, risk mitigation, and quality improvement. The Vendor Category Manager may lead account-level vendor oversight and support in cross-functional clinical vendor strategy as part of their development.

Essential Functions

  • Accountable for clinical vendor oversight on medium to large-sized multi-regional clinical studies, per contract, optimizing speed, quality, and cost of delivery, and ensuring consistent use of study tools, training materials, and compliance with standard processes, policies, and procedures, including onboarding, performance, finance, lessons learned, and quality assurance.
  • May lead account-level vendor oversight.
  • Achieve clinical vendor quality by identifying risks, responding to issues, and supporting corrective and preventative actions.
  • Ensure consistent use of study tools and training materials and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Create and maintain category and/or preferred clinical vendor supporting materials for project teams.
  • Collaborate with other functional groups to manage vendor issues and support contracting.
  • Manage clinical vendor risk proactively and lead problem-solving efforts.
  • Serve as primary or backup for other Vendor Category Managers.
  • Participate in clinical vendor strategy and support vendor landscape awareness.
  • Forecast and identify opportunities to accelerate activities and bring revenue forward.
  • Adopt corporate initiatives and serve as a change advocate.
  • Provide input on project team members’ performance and support staff development and mentoring.

Experience

Requires 3-5 years of relevant experience, including over 1 year of project management or equivalent education, training, and experience.

Knowledge

Good knowledge of clinical trials and vendor management, applicable clinical research regulatory requirements (ICH GCP, local laws), broad protocol knowledge, and therapeutic or procurement knowledge is desired.
