Develop and execute global quality strategies for Direct Material, leveraging synergies across the enterprise and driving a “One Supply Chain” philosophy. Plan and implement activities for timely, cost-effective procurement, quality products, planning and on-time delivery of assigned category products. Prioritize and maintain balance between cost of acquisition and cost of possession to maximize return on investment including methodologies to maximize working capital.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Supplier Quality Management
- Create and implement a robust audit process across all Business Units.
- Lead Supplier Quality audits and launch improvement action plans to help them develop their quality performance.
- Ensure new suppliers meet JBPCO requirements and have the capability (infrastructure, systems and processes) to support our growth.
- Conduct and lead Supplier’s Quality Business Reviews.
- Deploy / set-up at Supplier the Quality referential as per SSQM process (performance measurement referential, PPEP, 8D, etc.).
- Conduct improvements & Collaboration projects with suppliers on critical business issues.
- Identify day-to-day non-quality factors, conduct, or have other departments conduct in-depth analyses and monitor quality improvement plans at suppliers.
- Identify potential issues before they occur and implement preventive solutions.
- Lead quality issue resolution through containment, correction and prevention steps and check effectiveness of suppliers’ actions.
- Monitor and challenge Supplier Quality performance.
- Train, coach and challenge suppliers and Supply Quality (Senior) Engineers.
- Directly manage most complex/critical Supply/Supplier issues escalated.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 6-8 years related experience leading Quality departments.
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university.
- Quality experience in a Manufacturing/Engineered Product environment, Automotive industry experience preferred.
- Interfacing with plant quality departments, manufacturing engineering and program management teams.
- Experience in executing Global Quality initiatives & strategic planning.
- CSQP, CQA, Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred.
- Ability to travel 50-75%.
- Project management skills including excellent planning, time management, decision making and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of assembly & manufacturing processes.
- Ability to identify issues and risks, analyze and understand underlying causes, and devise appropriate action plans.
- Ability to communicate efficiently by listening and sharing information with internal and external customers.
- Ability to understand and integrate related technologies into the way of efficiently work a digital environment around planning, innovation, operation, measuring results, and engaging employees, and ultimately creating differentiated business value.
- Ability to understand the Customers’ perceptions and requirements across their journey when interacting with Business Units to transform Customer Experience pain points into competitive advantage.
- Ability to alert/stop and put an end to any process which would endanger customer satisfaction or decrease internal performance on the basis of factual measurements.
- Ability to audit existing and potential suppliers to determine their capability to deliver required goods on time and coach the suppliers to match JBPCO’s expectations.
- Ability to use an appropriate Continuous Improvement method (e.g. Go Do It, A3 problem solving, 8D, Kaizen, Lean, 6 Sigma etc.) to improve processes by identifying & then reducing waste, variation & defects, meeting the needs of the Customer & Business.
