Java Backend Engineer (Spring Boot) for Payments Platform

Job summary

DataArt in Monterrey is seeking Backend Software Engineers (Junior to Middle) to design, build, test and operate payment services with Java/Spring Boot. You will own REST APIs, apply SOLID principles, and work with cross-functional teams on secure, scalable cloud-native solutions for the Payments Platform.

You will collaborate with UX/UI, infra and delivery teams, participate in Agile ceremonies, and ensure quality and reliability of production services while handling sensitive financial data.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional backend development experience with Java.
• Hands on experience with Spring Boot building production services.
• Solid understanding of SOLID principles and common design patterns.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
• Experience with automated testing including unit and integration testing.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Exposure to Google Cloud and GKE.
• Familiarity with Git based workflows and CI/CD concepts.
• Fluency in Spanish and intermediate English for documentation and international collaboration.
• Experience with contract testing, PostgreSQL and API security.

Responsibilities

• Design backend services and REST APIs for the Payments Platform using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and maintain backend services with clean, testable, and maintainable code.
• Apply SOLID principles and established design patterns in software development.
• Implement unit, integration, and contract tests to support software quality.
• Apply secure coding practices for API security and safe handling of payment data.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and delivery teams on CI/CD pipelines.
• Deploy and operate services in a cloud environment with attention to scalability, security, and resilience.
• Monitor production performance and resolve incidents proactively.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Document technical solutions and share knowledge with the team.
