Role Purpose
The IT Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supporting all information technology operations within the plant or manufacturing site. The role ensures reliability, security, and efficiency of IT systems, networks, hardware, software, and production‑related technologies that support daily plant operations. The IT Supervisor coordinates technical support, supervises personnel or service providers, minimizes system downtime, and works closely with production, engineering, and other departments to maintain seamless technology performance. The supervisor also supports design, development, and deployment of digital transformation AI and data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily IT operations to ensure smooth support for production and administrative activities.
- Ensure proper functioning of plant‑related systems such as ERP terminals, barcode scanners, production monitoring systems, time‑keeping devices, and other operational technologies.
- Build strong working relationships within the IT digital team and across manufacturing and business functions.
- Support the maintenance, enhancement, and success of existing digital solutions.
- Collaborate closely with IT Digital and Data Analytics leadership and project stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain operational support levels against established metrics.
- Integrate the IT organization and systems into day‑to‑day plant operations and work with plant staff on team‑based decisions that support overall efficiency.
- Monitor and maintain plant IT infrastructure, servers, network devices, computers, printers, Wi‑Fi, and other connected systems.
- Track IT assets, spare equipment, software licenses, and ensure proper documentation.
- Coordinate with head office IT, vendors, and plant departments on projects, system improvements, and issue resolution.
- Provide stable and reliable IT support for all plant operations with minimal downtime.
- Ensure timely resolution of user‑reported IT issues and service requests.
- Maintain functional and reliable plant IT infrastructure, including network, hardware, and software systems.
- Perform regular system health checks and maintain maintenance reports and incident documentation.
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies, operational procedures, and audit requirements.
- Support successful implementation of plant IT projects, upgrades, and technology improvements.
- Improve performance and availability of production‑related IT systems.
Experiences / Education – Required
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering; or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, technical support, systems administration, or network management.
- 2+ years of demonstrated leadership abilities.
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or leading projects in the industry.
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Knowledge of network administration, connectivity, and infrastructure support.
- Ability to maintain and support computers, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment.
- Experience in hardware and software installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Understanding of server, system, and user account administration.
- Ability to provide timely technical support to end users.
- Knowledge of backup, recovery, and data protection procedures.
- Familiarity with IT security policies, antivirus, access control, and basic cybersecurity.
Experiences / Education – Desired
- Familiarity with ERP systems and production support applications.
- Knowledge of barcode scanners, handheld devices, time‑keeping systems, and plant Wi‑Fi.
- Understanding of firewall, switch, router, and network security concepts.
- Basic knowledge of database systems and system integration.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices or structured IT service management.
- Experience in handling compliance, audits, and IT policy implementation.
- Leadership and people management skills.
