IT Strategic Category Buyer

The IT & telecom hardware and IT consultants Strategic Category Buyers are responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring hardware solutions as well as specialized consultants that meet the organization's technological and operational needs. You will hold responsibility for all specific categories within the Indirect Purchasing Team. You will negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, SOWs, and commercial requirements that meet internal stakeholders' objectives and overall category strategy. You will interact directly with internal stakeholders and external vendors. You will familiarize yourself with Autoliv’s supply base and collaborate with internal stakeholders and Global Category Management to create and execute Category Strategies.

What you’ll do:
  • Develop category strategies, secure customer alignment, and execute plans.
  • Build strong relationships with internal Business partners.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives aligned with company goals.
  • Support Global Category Strategies, Management, and key initiatives.
  • Conduct competitive bidding processes.
  • Negotiate and create contracts reflecting negotiated terms.
What is required:
  • BS or BA in Purchasing, SCM, Engineering, or another business-related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT hardware purchasing, Category management, and Contract management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and requirements.
  • Proficiency with ERP purchasing systems, PowerPoint, Word, Excel (including pivot tables).
  • Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of standard purchasing practices.
