Job summary

Confie is seeking a Solution Architect II in Mexico to design, standardize, and lead scalable data platforms aligned with business needs. You will drive end-to-end analytics, from data ingestion to visualization, and mentor junior team members.

Ideal candidates bring 5–8 years in data engineering or related roles, strong SQL across SQL Server and cloud platforms, and hands-on experience with governance, security, and CI/CD for analytics environments.

Qualifications

Data warehouse architecture and dimensional modeling best practices.
Advanced English (B2-C1).
Proficient in SQL variants and cloud data platforms.
5–8 years in Data Engineering / Software Infra roles.
3–5 years designing large-scale data solutions.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end reporting and analytics solutions from data ingestion to visualization.
Design and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines across platforms.
Define data models and data flows; document designs for approvals.
Lead data platform migrations and modernization efforts.
Optimize performance and cost with diagnostics and monitoring.
Provide SME guidance and code reviews.
Enforce standards for analytics development and CI/CD processes.
Mentor Solution Architect I and other developers.

About the role

The main objectives for a Solution Architect II, position revolve around designing, standardizing, and leading the implementation of scalable data platforms that align with specific business needs. The Solution Architect II level often implies proficiency, the ability to handle complex projects independently, and contributing to enterprise standards.

Lead the architecture, design, development and maintenance of end-to-end reporting and analytics solutions, from data ingestion to visualization.

Design, write and optimize complex ETL/ELT procedures and data pipelines across SQL Server, Coalesce, Snowflake and other platforms, ensuring data quality, reliability and recoverability.

Define data models (dimensional and relational), integration patterns and data flows for new solutions; document technical designs and present them to stakeholders for approval.

Lead data platform migration and modernization initiatives (e.g., SQL Server to Snowflake, WhereScape to Coalesce), including planning, data validation and reconciliation between source and target systems.

Optimize performance and cost of complex solutions leveraging SQL execution plans, SQL Profiler, Snowflake Query Profile, indexing strategies and warehouse monitoring.

Act as SME and technical owner for code and subject areas in the DW; perform code reviews and validate production deployments.

Define, document and enforce design and development standards and best practices for the analytics and reporting environment (coding standards, error handling, version control, CI/CD and deployment processes).

Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to Solution Architect I and other developers; estimate, distribute and review technical work.

Partner with business leaders to translate requirements into scalable solutions, estimate effort and help prioritize the project roadmap.

Collaborate with IT Security and Information Governance to ensure data security, access controls and regulatory compliance.

Evaluate new technologies and propose investments to expand the solution footprint (Snowflake, WhereScape, Coalesce and others); outline and enforce best practice implementation and incorporate solutions into Confie's overall IT stack.
