Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

The IT Project Leader will be responsible for overseeing and managing IT projects from inception to completion. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership and organizational skills to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The IT Project Leader will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive project success and align with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Execution:Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation. Lead project execution, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines.
  • Team Leadership:Manage and lead project teams, providing direction, support, and motivation. Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
  • Stakeholder Management:Engage with stakeholders to understand project requirements and expectations. Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Risk Management:Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor and manage project risks and issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Budget Management:Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that projects are delivered within financial constraints. Track project expenses and provide regular financial reports.
  • Quality Assurance:Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and comply with organizational policies and procedures. Conduct regular project reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement.
  • Documentation and Reporting:Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, schedules, meeting minutes, and other relevant records. Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders and senior management.
Experiences and education
  • Education:Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience:Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT project management or a related role. Proven track record of successfully managing complex IT projects.
  • Skills:
    • Strong project leadership and project team management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Trello, GitHub).
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, software development, and system integration.
    • Fluent in English.
Desired qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification.
  • Experience working in a global role.
