Job summary

CPKC is seeking a qualified Rail Operations Inspector in San Luis Potosí to ensure track safety and regulatory compliance while promoting a culture of safety across crews and operations. The role requires strong knowledge of railroad operations, five years of experience, and a valid LFF license.

Responsibilities include inspecting tracks post-repair, handling trouble calls, and driving performance through clear accountability and targeted coaching. 24/7 availability and outdoor work are expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five (5) years of relevant operations experience.
• Specialist knowledge of one or more disciplines of railroad operations.
• As a requirement of the Secretaria de Comunicaciones y Transporte must have and maintain valid the LFF (Licencia Federal Ferroviaria) for the duration of employment.

Description

This position inspects compliance with Part 213 (monitoring standards) protects the track that does not comply with appropriate corrective measures and to protect trains and crews. The position also promotes safety with the crew through work audits and safety meetings.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

Required

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five (5) years of relevant operations experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Specialist knowledge of one or more disciplines of railroad operations.
• As a requirement of the "Secretaria de Comunicaciones y Transporte" must have and maintain valid the LFF (Licencia Federal Ferroviaria) for the duration of his employment contract with Kansas City Southern.

Working Conditions

• Available 24 X 7 X 365.
• Works outdoors and in inclement weather conditions.
• Shift work is an essential function of this job. Employees must have the ability and willingness to support critically important railroad operations 24 hours per day/7 days per week, working various shifts as assigned. Schedule assignments may include after-hours, weekends and holidays.
