Inside Plant/Outside Plant Technician I

Syntelligent is seeking full-time Inside Plant/Outside Plant Technician I for upcoming/contingent work.

Location: Navy Support Facility Diego Garcia

Schedule: Day/ M-F

Duties will include:

1. Reports to the Deputy Program Manager and works alone or with a team.
2. Installs, repairs, and maintains cable/fiber optic distribution systems to include all manholes and other supporting infrastructure on the installation.
3. Works with various types of cabling, including copper and fiber, by pulling, scrapping, testing, and splicing cables.
4. Installs telecommunications equipment and systems.
5. Performs regular preventive maintenance checks/inspections on network infrastructure and related equipment to ensure smooth operation. Provides on-call/after normal duty hour support as required.
6. Solves complex problems by troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and removing/replacing telecommunications equipment and systems.
7. Fulfills other work center duties as assigned.
8. Provides support to other contract work centers in cases of manpower shortages or unexpected requirements.
9. The above-mentioned duties require standing for long periods of time, the ability to climb ladders, and the ability to lift overhead 40lbs items.

Required Qualifications:

1. Three years of experience required in outside plant and fiber optic cable maintenance.
2. H.S. Diploma.
3. Certification: BICSI Installer Technician Level I or equivalent.

Clearance: US Secret

Mental Requirements: Must be able to multi-task and rapidly change priorities with limited notice.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit/stand at a desk for long periods and must be able to lift 20 pounds occasionally.
