Job summary

HARMAN Automotive in Ciudad Juárez is seeking an experienced Injection Molding Engineer to advance plastic molding processes and support manufacturing improvements. You will collaborate with multiple teams to drive quality, productivity, and automation initiatives.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering background with 5+ years of hands-on molding experience, knowledge of DFx feedback, and familiarity with IATF 16949 and Core Tools. On-site position with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years’ work experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of plastic injection molding, part manufacturability, processing & automation.
• English proficiency at ~80%.
• 5 years’ experience in electronica assembly manufacturing – Molding or equivalent.
• Internal Auditor IATF 16949 (Recommended).
• Core Tools knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provides plastic injection molding technical support to address manufacturing/processing issues.
• Provides manufacturing assessment.
• Leads/participates in continuous improvement to improve quality, productivity, and safety, and reduce scrap and downtime.
• Conducts initial injection molding samples to verify processes and mold capabilities.
• Coordinates installation/startup of new equipment.
• Provides DFx feedback on new mold designs and ECNs.
• Manages projects related to new injection mold builds and modifications.
• Performs plastic flow analysis and makes product recommendations/work instructions.
• PF/ PFMEA
• Guides Lead Molding Machine Operators with direction and training.
• Participates in product development PFMEA/ CP/ PF.
• Assesses resource requirements and opportunities for automation and productivity improvements.
