Brose Group in Querétaro, Mexico, seeks an experienced tooling engineer to lead new plastic injection tooling projects from concept to production launch.

Responsibilities include evaluating mold designs for manufacturability, performing feasibility analyses, coordinating with suppliers and teams, and driving continuous improvement in molding processes and tooling performance.

Formación

  • Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in plastic injection molding processes in automotive/industrial/manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of plastic injection molding simulation and flow analysis.
  • Extensive experience in plastic resin setup, processing, and optimization including troubleshooting.
  • Advanced tooling design experience for plastic injection molds.
  • Proficient in CATIA and SolidWorks.
  • Experience with press size calculations and material handling equipment.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and English proficiency.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead management of new plastic injection tooling projects from concept through production launch.
  • Review and evaluate mold designs for manufacturability, quality, cycle time, and tooling performance.
  • Perform component feasibility analysis from design to end of tool life during serial production.
  • Coordinate tooling development with suppliers, customers, design, quality, and manufacturing teams.
  • Conduct plastic injection simulations and technical evaluations to support mold decisions.
  • Calculate tooling quotations and determine piece price costing based on technical and commercial requirements.
  • Conduct engineering change feasibility studies including cost assessments and quotations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to molding processes, tooling performance, quality, and efficiency.

Your Tasks
  • Lead the management of new plastic injection tooling projects from concept through production launch.
  • Review and evaluate mold designs to ensure manufacturability, quality, cycle time optimization, and long-term tooling performance.
  • Perform component feasibility analysis from the initial design phase through the end of tool life during serial production.
  • Coordinate tooling development activities with suppliers, customers, design teams, quality, and manufacturing departments.
  • Conduct plastic injection simulations and technical evaluations to support product and mold design decisions.
  • Calculate and prepare tooling quotations and determine piece price costing based on technical and commercial requirements.
  • Conduct engineering change feasibility studies, including technical evaluations, cost assessments, and quotation preparation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to molding processes, tooling performance, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
Your Profile
  • Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in plastic injection molding processes within an automotive, industrial, or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of plastic injection molding simulation and flow analysis.
  • Extensive experience in plastic resin setup, processing, and optimization, including troubleshooting and process parameter development.
  • Advanced knowledge of tooling design for plastic injection molds.
  • Proficient in design software such as CATIA and SolidWorks.
  • Experience performing injection molding machine tonnage calculations (press size calculations).
  • Strong understanding of plastic injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment, including robots, dryers, chillers, temperature controllers, and material handling systems.
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
