Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in automotive propulsion. This fully remote role supports a global team, designing, simulating, and validating propulsion systems for next‑generation vehicles from Cancún, Quintana Roo, MX.

You will apply CATIA/SolidWorks and CAE tools (ANSYS, GT‑SUITE) with 7+ years of experience, collaborating across disciplines, mentoring juniors, and contributing to documentation and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in automotive powertrain or propulsion system design.
• Proven CAD/CAE proficiency (CATIA/SolidWorks, ANSYS, GT‑SUITE).
• Strong thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, combustion, and electric motor knowledge.
• Experience in vehicle testing/validation and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop propulsion systems for next‑gen vehicles (ICE, hybrid, EV).
• Run simulations/analyses (CFD/FEA) to optimize performance and durability.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams for integration.
• Oversee prototype testing and implement design changes.
• Prepare technical documentation and test reports; contribute to patents.
