Placements24 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in backend Python to design, develop, and deploy scalable services for a cutting-edge AgTech SaaS platform. This fully remote role allows you to work from anywhere in Mexico, collaborating with product and design teams.

You will build APIs, manage cloud infrastructure, and mentor junior engineers while upholding security and performance standards in a fast-growing company.

This role is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in Mexico. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying robust and scalable backend systems that power our client's cutting-edge platform. You will collaborate closely with a talented team of engineers, product managers, and designers to build high-quality software solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve backend software services and systems using Python.
• Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure) for backend services, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Work closely with product managers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, share knowledge, and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks and bugs in the application.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmap planning.
• Develop and maintain APIs for internal and external use.
• Implement security and data protection best practices.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a positive team culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with web frameworks such as Django or Flask.
• Solid understanding of database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and data modeling.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture is a plus.
• Proficiency in version control systems like Git.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for remote work.
• Experience in the AgTech industry is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively from anywhere within Puebla, Puebla or other locations in Mexico.
