Job summary

• Develop concepts for new and revised products maximizing function, safety, features, and user benefits while minimizing costs.
• Direct preparation of models and lab testing to develop product.
• Prepare and maintain Project Control Charts and schedules.
• Participate in meetings to coordinate projects with departments.
• Direct preparation of product drawings and check completed drawings.
• Prepare product standards and specifications and obtain agency listings (UL/CSA, etc.).
• Approve tooling, assemblies, and update drawings; release approved product for production.
• Evaluate and implement solutions to production problems with existing designs.

What will help you thrive in this role?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (required)
• 5-8 years of experience in design and engineering support of Electro-Mechanical products (required)
• Experience in design of high-volume products with emphasis in design of wiring products and small electro-mechanical products (required)
• Knowledge of production techniques, engineering materials, drafting and documentation procedures
• Knowledge of various standards agencies i.e. UL, CSA, etc.
• Superior knowledge of materials
• Knowledge of manufacturing techniques for high-volume plastic molding and metal stamping
