Safran Cabin in Tijuana, Mexico, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer focused on Lean initiatives to drive process improvements and reduce variation. You will work with engineering on high-impact projects, lead SOPs, and participate in PFMEA/control plan activities to support OPEX.

The role requires a university engineering degree, Green Belt preferred, and advanced English. 3 years in a similar role or 5 years as an engineer are expected to ensure effective production systems.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Green Belt certification is desirable
  • Advanced English proficiency required

Responsabilidades

  • Identify and implement process improvements with engineering to generate high-impact projects.
  • Ensure safety project and guideline compliance.
  • Promote and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in project meetings for new products/processes.
  • Maintain SOPs for critical production processes per PFMEA and control plans.
  • Approve engineering changes through document control to ensure capacity and changes.
  • Coordinate and execute FMEA through cross-functional teams.
  • Train and develop manufacturing/maintenance engineers per company standards.
  • Investigate customer complaints and KPIs using root cause analysis.
  • Optimize plant layout and process flow to improve space utilization.

Descripción del empleo

  1. Identify manufacturing process improvements by coordinating with the engineering team on low-hanging fruit initiatives to generate high-impact projects for the organization.
  2. Participate in and ensure compliance with safety projects and guidelines.
  3. Promote and participate in continuous improvement projects, considering the scope of the job.
  4. Identify and implement continuous improvement projects using advanced lean manufacturing tools to reduce process variation.
  5. Lead and/or participate in cross-functional project teams, attending engineering change meetings for the introduction, transfer, and implementation of new products and processes.
  6. Manage the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for critical production processes, developing, modifying, and maintaining them based on PFMEA and control plans to ensure compliance with the OPEX system. 7. Identify and propose strategic changes to product design based on process optimization and technological solutions to improve product design for manufacturing.
  7. Approve engineering changes to designs through the document control system to ensure the installed capacity of the processes and the manufacturing of the changes.
  8. Coordinate and execute Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) through process risk studies, coordinating a cross-functional team to create risk mitigation control plans for the processes.
  9. Train and develop manufacturing and maintenance engineers according to company-defined standards, ensuring the team has the necessary technical and interpersonal skills and knowledge to achieve the goals.
  10. Investigate and resolve problems arising from customer complaints or key performance indicators by conducting root cause analysis to improve customer satisfaction.
  11. Coordinate and update plant layout by analyzing plant distribution and process flow to optimize the use of manufacturing space.
EDUCATION
  • University degree in Engineering with a professional title.
  • Green Belt certification (desired).
ENGLISH LEVEL
  • Advanced English.
EXPERIENCE
  • 3 years of experience in a similar position or 5 years of experience as an Engineer.
COMPUTER SKILLS

- Basic-intermediate Microsoft Office suite.

OTHER SKILLS
  • Personnel management and supervision.
  • Knowledge of production systems.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing
