Placements24 is seeking an experienced Structural and Chassis Engineer to join our advanced engineering team in Naucalpan, State of Mexico. You will design, develop, and test vehicle structures and chassis systems to deliver performance, safety and ride quality.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, use CAD/CAE tools (CATIA, SolidWorks, Abaqus/ANSYS), run crash simulations, and ensure manufacturability and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (Master's preferred).
• Minimum 5 years in structural or chassis design within automotive.
• Strong CAD/CAE proficiency and crash/ safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop vehicle structural components and chassis systems (frame, suspension, steering, braking).
• Perform 3D modeling, drafting and simulations using CAD/CAE tools (FEA).
• Conduct structural analyses to meet stiffness, strength and weight targets.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure manufacturability and feasibility.
• Develop and execute test plans for structural and chassis components; analyze results.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop vehicle structural components and chassis systems, including frame, suspension, steering, and braking systems.
• Utilize CAD/CAE tools for 3D modeling, drafting, and simulation (e.g., FEA for structural integrity, durability, and crashworthiness).
• Perform structural analysis and optimize designs to meet performance targets for stiffness, strength, and weight.
• Collaborate with styling, systems engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
• Develop and execute test plans for structural and chassis components and systems.
• Analyze test data and implement design modifications as needed.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
• Investigate and resolve structural and chassis-related issues during development and production.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural or chassis design within the automotive industry.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and CAE tools (e.g., Abaqus, ANSYS).
• Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, suspension systems, and steering mechanisms.
• Experience with crash simulations and safety standards.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes for automotive structures and chassis components.
