Placements24 seeks an experienced Automotive Electronics and Control Systems Engineer to design, develop, and test ECUs for advanced vehicle applications. This role is primarily remote with occasional visits to the Cuernavaca facility, offering exposure to cutting-edge hardware and software in a collaborative team environment.

You will work with mechanical and software teams, apply ISO 26262 concepts, and contribute to system integration, validation, and reliability of automotive electronics

Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a leader in automotive electronics, is seeking a highly competent Ingeniero de Electrónica Automotriz y Sistemas de Control to join their innovative team. This role, primarily remote with occasional visits to their facility near Cuernavaca, Morelos , will focus on the design, development, and testing of electronic control units (ECUs) and related systems for advanced automotive applications. You will be at the forefront of developing intelligent vehicle technologies, working with cutting-edge hardware and software. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive electronic hardware, including circuit design, component selection, and PCB layout supervision.
• Develop and implement embedded software/firmware for ECUs using C/C++.
• Integrate electronic systems with other vehicle subsystems (e.g., powertrain, chassis, body electronics).
• Perform system-level testing, validation, and debugging of electronic components and ECUs.
• Collaborate with mechanical and software engineering teams to ensure system integration and performance.
• Define and document system requirements, technical specifications, and test procedures.
• Analyze test results and implement design modifications to meet performance and reliability targets.
• Stay updated on automotive electronics trends, standards (e.g., ISO 26262), and new technologies.
• Troubleshoot complex electronic and control system issues.
• Work closely with manufacturing to ensure design for manufacturability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive electronics hardware and/or embedded software development.
• Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, microcontrollers, and sensors.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems.
• Experience with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet).
• Familiarity with automotive functional safety standards (ISO 26262) is a plus.
• Experience with electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration in a remote and team environment.
• Experience supporting automotive projects in the vicinity of Cuernavaca, Morelos is beneficial.
