Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Engine Control Engineer to join an advanced engineering center in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas. You will design, implement, and calibrate engine control systems to optimize performance, emissions, and fuel efficiency in gasoline and diesel engines.

Based in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, you will work with a team of engineers, using embedded software, RTOS, and dynamometer testing to validate control strategies and ensure compliance with environmental and industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field with focus on control systems.
• Minimum of 5 years of automotive engine control development and calibration.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with model-based design tools (MATLAB/Simulink) and rapid prototyping.
• Strong understanding of internal combustion engines, thermodynamics, and emissions.
• Familiarity with CAN/LIN and automotive communication protocols.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities; knowledge of industry standards.
• Proficiency in Spanish required; English advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop control algorithms for gasoline and diesel engines focusing on performance and emissions.
• Implement control strategies using embedded software and RTOS with microcontroller tools.
• Calibrate engine control modules (ECMs) using specialized tools and dynamometer testing.
• Perform system-level testing and validation of engine control strategies in vehicles.
• Analyze engine data, emissions, and diagnostics to identify issues.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define sensor/actuator/ECU requirements.
• Work with emissions teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Troubleshoot engine control problems and implement solutions.
• Stay updated on engine tech, control theory, and regulations.
• Document strategies, calibration procedures, and test results.
