General Motors is seeking an Environmental Engineer to develop and maintain robust environmental stewardship program strategies that support GM’s sustainable solutions.

The role requires knowledge of air, water, or waste regulations, ISO 14001, and advanced English. You will collaborate with plant management, regulators, and domain experts to drive continual improvement and ensure compliant implementations globally.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in environmental programs.
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and related ISO standards.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Responsabilidades

  • Develop, maintain and support environmental stewardship program strategies aligned with GM’s mission.
  • Engage with domain experts to ensure continual improvement and new program implementation.
  • Collaborate with plant management, regulators, and internal/external partners.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies, auditors, and utility/service providers.
  • Support project planning teams at sites and HQ.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for developing/maintaining/supporting robust and consistent environmental stewardship program strategies in support of GM’s mission to deliver sustainable solutions that improve the communities in which we live and work.
  • Experienced in at least one of the main environmental programs (air permits and regulation, water permits and regulations, or waste regulations)
  • Engages with Domain Experts as necessary to ensure continual improvement and support new program/project implementation.
  • Key collaboration with plant management and employees, FAMs, regulatory agencies, internal and external community leaders and members, legal staff, GM and external audit services, utility service provides (WWTP & PH), Project Planning teams at sites & HQ, domain experts and chemical and resource management business partners.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering related field or relevant experience.
  • One year of experience in a similar position Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and other ISO standards, such as ISO 14000 or ISO 9000.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with environmental audits or ISO 14000-related certifications.
  • Experience supporting Environmental Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of Power BI or process automation.
