About the Role

Our client, a leading developer in the renewable Energía sector, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Solar Energy Project Engineer to join our team on-site in León, Guanajuato . This role is pivotal for the successful execution and delivery of solar power projects from conception through to commissioning. You will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of project development, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position requires a strong understanding of solar technology, project management, and on-site coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the technical aspects of solar energy projects throughout their lifecycle, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to review and approve solar system designs, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the work of contractors and vendors, ensuring adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and project documentation for stakeholders and management.
• Liaise with utility companies, permitting authorities, and other external stakeholders to facilitate project approvals and grid interconnection.
• Ensure all installations meet safety standards and environmental regulations specific to Mexico .
• Troubleshoot technical challenges encountered during the construction and commissioning phases.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of project execution processes and methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in project management and engineering within the solar energy industry.
• Demonstrated experience in managing utility-scale or commercial solar projects.
• Strong knowledge of solar photovoltaic (PV) technologies, system design, and performance analysis.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, PVSyst).
• Excellent understanding of construction methods, electrical installations, and relevant safety regulations.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, on-site environment.
• Fluent in Spanish; proficiency in English is a plus.
• Willingness to travel as needed within the region.
