An established industry player is seeking an Assembly Methods Engineer to enhance production efficiency through innovative design and installation of assembly equipment. This role involves defining assembly line architecture, ensuring optimal capacity, and applying Lean/Six Sigma methodologies for continuous improvement. You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to support new product development and maintain project schedules. Formación

  • Engineering degree preferred (BSEE or BSME) with 3+ years of experience.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and excellent communication skills.

Descripción del empleo

The Assembly Methods Engineer will be responsible for:

  1. Designing, installing & qualifying assembly equipment to support low volume/high mix production
  2. Coordinating the installation of the assembly equipment, while adhering to safety guidelines
  3. Defining the assembly line value stream maps
  4. Designing the assembly line architecture and shop floor layouts
  5. Defining the takt time (the mfg rate to match customer demand) for the assembly area
  6. Ensuring adequate assembly capacity and material handling capacity
  7. Monitoring the Overall Equipment Effectiveness
  8. Leading the continuous improvement efforts for assembly of Low Voltage DrawOut Switchgear
  9. Applying Lean/Six Sigma problem solving methods for root cause resolutions
  10. Developing the capital expenditure proposals for the assembly area
  11. Creating detailed plans for every assembly
  12. Designing safe/ergonomic assembly lines and material handling solutions
  13. Supporting new product development projects (cost estimates, layouts, fixtures, assembly lines)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Engineering degree, BSEE or BSME preferred
  • +3 years of experience
  • Core tools, Lean Manufacturing knowledge
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Excellent problem resolution skills
  • Ability to interact with engineering and manufacturing personnel
  • Must be able to effectively utilize time to maintain project schedules
  • Advanced English
