Safran Group in Mexicali, Mexico, is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support production assembly processes. You will analyze workflows, define efficient sequences, and collaborate with design engineering to improve manufacturability.

The role requires a bachelor’s in Industrial, mechanical, mechatronic or electronic engineering, 5+ years of experience, and English proficiency. Green belt certification is desirable. This permanent, full-time position offers growth in a global aerospace leader.

Job description

Provides technical support to Operations in the form of enabling and improving the flow of manufacturing utilizing the disciplines of industrial and mechanical engineering. Assignments range from straightforward, reactionary in nature to complex, and strategic. Uses independent judgment to make decisions in day-today job responsibilities the majority of the time under general supervision.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Responsible for technical problem definition and solution in manufacturing environment.
• Interfaces with design engineering on incorporating changes to the designs that improve manufacturability.
• Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control through the application of Lean principles.
• Determines the most efficient sequence of operations and work flow, and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
• Assignments usually consist of providing engineering economics support (cost estimates, facilitating achievement of cost requirements/targets) on standalone product development efforts.
• Plan, execute (facilitate) and document engineering economics challenges.
• Maintain awareness of the technological state-of-the-art and of the Company's

Candidate skills & requirements

Education: Professional degree in Industrial, mechanical, mechatronic or electronic engineering.

Experience: Experience in a similar position, supervisor, quality engineer.

Certifications: Green belt (desirable for entry and intermediate positions, mandatory for experienced and advanced)
