Vertiv is seeking an Industrial Engineering & Productivity professional to drive labor standards, capacity planning, and line balancing for manufacturing operations. You will design layouts, analyze material flow, and lead continuous improvement through Lean tools.

Collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain is essential. Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally to support plant assessments and transfers.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 4+ years in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or Operations Excellence.
  • Experience in HVAC, Liquid Cooling, industrial manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, or high-volume production environments preferred.
  • Experience in labor planning, productivity analysis, and facility layout design.

Key Responsibilities Industrial Engineering & Productivity
  • Develop and maintain labor standards using time studies, work sampling, and predetermined motion time systems.
  • Perform workforce planning and labor capacity analysis to support production requirements.
  • Lead line balancing activities to optimize labor utilization and improve throughput.
  • Analyze direct and indirect labor performance and identify productivity opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain standard work and labor reporting systems.
Facility Layout & Material Flow
  • Design and optimize manufacturing layouts to improve workflow, capacity utilization, and operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate material flow and implement improvements that reduce transportation, handling, and non-value-added activities.
  • Support facility expansions, equipment relocations, and manufacturing footprint optimization.
  • Develop capacity models and future-state layouts aligned with business growth.
Continuous Improvement
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.
  • Implement Lean tools including 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, Standard Work, and Waste Elimination.
  • Identify and execute projects that improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Data Analysis & Performance Management
  • Develop and maintain operational KPIs, dashboards, and performance reporting tools.
  • Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support annual productivity planning and savings initiatives.
  • Conduct capacity, utilization, and throughput analysis to support operational decision-making.
New Product Introduction & Operations Support
  • Support manufacturing readiness for new products and product transfers.
  • Perform labor impact assessments and resource planning for new programs.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to support production launches.
  • Provide recommendations to improve operational scalability and efficiency.
Safety & Ergonomics
  • Lead ergonomic assessments and workplace design improvements.
  • Support Job Safety Analysis (JSA) activities and risk reduction initiatives.
  • Promote safe and efficient work methods aligned with company standards.
Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
Experience
  • 4+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Excellence, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in HVAC, Liquid Cooling, industrial manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, or high-volume production environments preferred.
  • Experience in labor planning, productivity analysis, and facility layout design.
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Industrial Engineering principles and work measurement techniques.
  • Experience conducting time studies, labor standards development, and capacity planning.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing performance metrics.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, or layout design software preferred.
  • Knowledge of Value Stream Mapping, PFMEA, and process improvement tools.
