Vertiv is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor for the Transformer Production area in Mexicali. You will lead daily operations, manage hourly production teams, and drive safety, quality, and productivity improvements.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in manufacturing supervision, strong leadership, and a track record in lean manufacturing and KPIs. This role offers growth within a global industrial leader and requires on-site work in Mexicali.

Formación

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading hourly production employees in high-volume manufacturing.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and supervise daily operations within the Transformer Production area.
• Manage production teams to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and cost savings.
• Monitor KPIs including Hourly Rate, Productivity, First Pass Yield, Schedule Attainment, Scrap, and Overtime.
• Ensure adherence to standardized work instructions, procedures, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate manpower allocation and production schedules to meet customer demand.
• Develop and mentor team members through coaching and career development.
• Foster a positive employee relations environment promoting accountability and engagement.
• Support investigations and corrective actions related to safety, quality, and production issues.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and HR to resolve constraints.
• Lead daily tier meetings, production reviews, and shift handovers.
• Ensure compliance with policies and health & safety standards.
• Participate in Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing initiatives, and operational excellence programs.

This role requires a hands‑on leader with strong manufacturing experience, excellent people management skills, and a proven ability to drive operational excellence in a fast‑paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily operations within the Transformer Production area.


• Manage production teams to ensure compliance with safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.


• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and cost savings.


• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including Hourly Rate, Productivity, First Pass Yield, Schedule Attainment, Scrap, and Overtime.


• Ensure adherence to standardized work instructions, manufacturing procedures, and quality requirements.


• Coordinate manpower allocation and production schedules to meet customer demand and operational goals.


• Develop and mentor team members through coaching, training, performance feedback, and career development activities.


• Foster a positive employee relations environment that promotes accountability, teamwork, and engagement.


• Support investigations and implementation of corrective actions related to safety, quality, and production issues.


• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Human Resources to resolve production constraints and improve plant performance.


• Lead daily tier meetings, production reviews, and shift handovers.


• Ensure compliance with all company policies, environmental regulations, and health & safety standards.


• Participate in Kaizen events, Lean Manufacturing initiatives, and operational excellence programs.

Qualifications Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Experience

• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.


• Experience leading hourly production employees in a high-volume manufacturing operation.


• Previous experience in transformer manufacturing, electrical assembly, wire processing, metal fabrication, or similar industrial operations is highly preferred.


• Strong background in production planning, labor management, and performance metrics.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong leadership and team development capabilities.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.


• Ability to analyze data and drive decisions through performance metrics.


• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ERP/MRP systems.


• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
