Job Description

Arcadis is looking to hire a Senior Industrial Leader to support industrial projects and business development efforts in several industrial sectors, such as Automotive, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, and Steel among others within our Places Team business unit in our office in Mexico City.

As a Senior Industrial Leader, you will be ahead of the Industrial Projects in which Arcadis Mexico participates, lead the Business Development efforts, and help to enhance the Business Development processes by developing and driving plans, managing cross-functional teams, and coordinating activities of this position. You will be responsible for all business development and project development and delivery to the clients.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring successful project delivery and successful business development with clients of the industrial sector in Mexico. Your main responsibilities will be to develop commercial client relations, lead offers development, and pursue new businesses among industrial clients. You will also be responsible for the projects assigned to you to ensure that the Arcadis way of doing is fully committed at every development step of the project in multiple projects. Your expertise in business development and project management will be essential in guaranteeing the efficient execution of complex medium to large-sized projects in the industrial sector.

Role Accountabilities:
  • Manage business opportunities from first contact with clients to the closing of new contracts.
  • Responsible for the development of proposals for existing and future customers.
  • Develop long-lasting relationships with clients to allow pursuits and sales of services.
  • Perform market research and analysis to identify business opportunities among industrial clients in Mexico.
  • Management and analysis of business data for decision-making.
  • Management of consulting projects and overall responsibility for project processes, as well as responsibility and management of project deliverables.
  • Lead projects from beginning to delivery in a multi-project environment.
  • Implement successful project management practices.
  • Share responsibility for the growth and development of a project pipeline.
  • Work closely with our key clients and support the development of client relationships.
  • Experience in business development within industrial sector clients.
  • Experience managing capital or mission-critical projects within the private sector preferably in automotive or manufacturing industry.
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline project environment.
  • Able to meet and manage client and stakeholder expectations.
  • Manage one or more projects, ensuring their correct execution according to the defined contractual methods.
  • Plan the projects and the definition of contract development plans, setting up project teams suitable for the realization of the task and coordinating these resources.
  • Maintain best client relationships.
  • Act as mediator between the parties, maintaining active communication within and outside the organization.
  • Conduct periodic meetings to verify alignment with the previsions regarding the progress of the project.
  • Draw up summary reports of the weekly and monthly meetings, monitoring the progress of the activities and creating/modifying schedules and budgets.
  • Prepare and maintain Project Execution Plans.
  • Manage, supervise, and coordinate projects within the Smart Buildings – Intelligence Business Line in terms of internal planning, organization, financial, and legal issues.
  • Manage on behalf of Clients – Industrial, logistics & manufacturing projects, from early due diligence and concept stage, through engineering, procurement, and construction management & commissioning.
  • Manage due diligence and design phase, implementing Client technical and commercial requirements into the project. Setting up procurement strategies and managing the tendering process for construction works. Supervising and managing the construction site until final handover and commissioning.
  • Manage, advise, guide, and direct others in the way projects are run.
  • Client management, project, cost & commercial management (contract and risk management) to avoid complaints and claims. Provide constant technical and commercial advice to Clients.
  • Work with Clients and manage their goals, expectations, and requirements.
  • Coordinate required Arcadis resources and billability on projects; including on-site team of engineers and Arcadis’ subcontractors.
  • Provide a link with Clients and partners to discover new business opportunities for Arcadis. Participate and manage the internal tenders/bids to be submitted by Arcadis.
Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Systems, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Degree required).
  • A Master’s degree would be beneficial.
  • At least +10 years of extensive experience in various industrial projects and smart buildings managing Greenfield and Brownfield Projects from inception to hand-over.
  • At least +5 years of experience in business development within industrial clients.
  • Proven experience performing business development activities.
  • Market research experience and client relations development.
  • Proven experience in offer leading and integration.
  • Proven experience managing medium-large projects in the industrial sector.
  • Proven experience managing contractors and sub-contractors, client representatives, and authority officials.
  • Deep knowledge of Project Management with demonstrated experience in managing design, pre-construction, and construction activities.
  • Proven effective project and construction management skills in medium-large construction projects of intelligent/smart buildings.
  • Full command of verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage stakeholder expectations and build healthy interpersonal relationships.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and be a highly motivated and self-driving person.
  • Strong software skills related to project management.
  • PMP or PMC certification, Primavera (P6).
