What is the job about?

As an Indirect Purchasing Specialist, you will provide administrative and communication support to the Category Manager, focusing on Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Strategic Sourcing (STS) processes.

This role reports directly to the Purchasing Manager and functionally to the MRO Category Manager. It is based in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, operating in a hybrid model.

Please note that relocation for this position cannot be supported, and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in Mexico without support.


Your main responsibilities:

  • Support Category Management with data analysis, negotiation preparation, and coordination.
  • Create e-sourcing events (RFI, RFQ, e-auctions) for the MRO category and prepare evaluations, including collecting drawings and requirements.
  • Prepare contracts and schedules.
  • Analyze contract compliance.
  • Assist with supplier classification and MRO category strategy development.
  • Monitor supplier performance (cost, delivery, quality, lead time, sustainability) and suggest improvements when targets are not met.
  • Support implementation and follow-up on supplier improvement activities.
  • Facilitate communication between Grundfos stakeholders, Category Manager, and suppliers.
  • Coordinate supplier meetings and vendor communications.
  • Ensure contract coverage and purchase order alignment with KPIs across regional companies.
  • Act as a liaison between English and Spanish-speaking regional teams.
  • Assist Category Managers with problem-solving and workflow processes.
  • Support regional cost-saving and sustainability initiatives.
  • Maintain high cooperation with vendors and planners to address escalations.
  • Participate in health, safety, and environmental programs and comply with ISO standards:
  • ISO 14001:2015, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018

Your background

We imagine that you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, Engineering or related field.
  • Previous experience and strong knowledge of the MRO category.
  • Familiarity with best practices in purchasing, administration, and business support.
  • Up to 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong organizational skills and adaptability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • A proactive, self-motivated attitude and ability to work independently.
  • High fluency in English and understanding of international business environments
