IMPORT AND EXPORT SPECIALIST
IMPACT & OPPORTUNITY
Responsible for overseeing all logistics related to Import & Export operations, ensuring on-time and accurate deliveries to customers. Acts as the main contact for customs agents and guarantees compliance and accuracy in all documentation and processes involved in the international logistics flow.
- Prepare invoices for import and export transactions.
- Generate customs pre-alerts (previos) for import processes.
- Coordinate vehicle dispatch for border crossings and domestic deliveries.
- Generate shipping documentation such as "Carta Porte."
- Prepare documents for virtual operations closure.
- Organize shipping documents for ocean, air, and ground transportation.
- Communicate with customs brokers to follow up on import/export processes.
- Act as the main point of contact with customs brokers.
- Track and follow up with logistics carriers.
- Ensure proper clearance of INBOND merchandise at the border.
- Prevent accumulation of inventory at customs warehouse.
- Handle parcel shipments (UPS, FedEx, etc.).
- Prepare documents for importing fixed assets.
- Follow up on merchandise arriving via airport or seaport (e.g., Manzanillo).
- Ensure proper clearance of parcel guides upon arrival at the plant.
- Monthly INEGI reporting.
- Report on expedited freight.
- Approve import/export customs entries (pedimentos).
- Support transportation sourcing for material collection or delivery.
- Create purchase orders for logistics suppliers.
- Participate in cross-training activities assigned by the supervisor.
- Assist in physical inventory processes as required.
- Draft and/or update manuals related to job responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in International Trade or related field.
- Strong knowledge of Customs Law.
- Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in Import/Export operations.
- Materials handling and management.
- Familiarity with Anexo 24 systems.
- Experience managing customs brokers and traffic coordination.
- Experience in team supervision.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Results-driven, collaborative, and clear communicator.
- Advanced Excel proficiency.
- Bilingual: Spanish and English (90%).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in customs border crossings.
- Knowledge of customs duties and tariffs payment processes.
