This role is critical in ensuring the efficient flow of materials and finished products across borders while maintaining full compliance with Mexican customs regulations and U.S.-Mexico trade agreements.
- Make invoices (import & export) in I-xportSystem.
- Manage online and virtual requirements.
- Monitor KPI performance.
- Prepare internal and external reports; maintain archives.
- Coordinate daily imports.
- Prepare necessary documentation for customs operations (MX-US).
- Ensure correct application of tariff preferences.
- Coordinate inter-maquila operations (virtual operations).
- Conduct active fixed audits.
- Manage and control external transporters.
- Manage and control internal files related to foreign trade.
- Coordinate with customs brokers for operations.
- Apply permits under Rule 8th and manage balance control.
- Manage Certificates of Origin (UMSCA).
- Ensure compliance with IMMEX regulations; maintain program records (Annex 24 & 31, inventory, traceability).
- Handle import/export discharges for Annex 30.
- Prepare monthly internal and external reports on import/export operations.
- Maintain knowledge on import/export restructuring (raw materials & fixed assets).
- Understand SAT process audits.
- Oversee inbound import processes.
- Classify HTS codes correctly.
- Monitor and close corrective actions and non-conformities in SGC.
- Maintain records and ensure compliance with Mexican customs law, USMCA, and other trade agreements.
- Perform internal audits of customs entries, ensure duty payments, and rectify discrepancies.
- Identify customs risks or inefficiencies and propose corrective measures.
- Degree in import/export, international commerce, or similar.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of import/export law.
- Expertise in Annex 24/30 databases.
- Visa and passport preferred.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal) at 80% level.
