Job summary

Peraton is seeking a COBOL/IDMS Software Programmer/Developer to maintain and develop applications using COBOL, IDMS, and ADSO for IBM mainframe environments. The role supports the Defense Civilian Payroll System (DCPS) project and requires experience planning and coordinating multi-team efforts.

The candidate should have strong background in mainframe software development, system integration, and strategic decision-making to guide project execution and delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience with COBOL in a mainframe environment.
• Experience with IDMS (Integrated Database Management System).
• Experience with ADSO (Application Development System Online).
• Experience with specifications for software requirement changes.
• Experience with design and development of software systems.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and coordinates all activities associated with creating software across multiple functional areas and products.
• Prioritizes and allocates projects, products, and resources with the assistance of architects and managers.
• Participates in strategic decisions about technology, definition, and implementation of software products.
• Directs software development projects to ensure timely delivery and compliance with quality standards.
• Organizes projects with a project plan including goals, strategy, roles, milestones, risks, and resources.
