Amazon is seeking high-potential leaders ready to own their impact in Amazon Operations as entry-level managers. This role offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills, focusing on people management, while mastering tools, processes, and operations that make Amazon the most customer-centric company on Earth.

As an Area Manager, you will lead and develop a team of Amazon Associates in a distribution warehouse environment. Your responsibilities include motivating, mentoring, and coaching your team, ensuring they have the tools needed to succeed during each shift. Core functions involve maintaining safety, quality, attendance, performance, and engagement standards. This role provides insight into how Amazon manages its fulfillment and delivery networks.

What is fulfillment? Fulfillment involves completing customer orders through picking, packing, shipping, and delivering, aiming to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts
  • Availability for overtime during peak seasons and as needed
  • Position located in a Fulfillment Center, not a corporate office

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of 20 to 60 Associates
  • Communicate policies effectively and ensure team compliance
  • Create and support recognition and communication initiatives
  • Support safety programs and OSHA compliance
  • Maintain security and prevent product loss
  • Collaborate with management to uphold quality standards
  • Develop performance goals aligned with customer demand and quality standards

Job Elements:

  • Stand and walk for up to 10-12 hours
  • Navigate the warehouse, which may be over a quarter mile long
  • Access all areas safely, including ladders and stairs
  • Regularly bend, lift, stretch, and reach
  • Lift items up to 49 pounds
  • Minimum 2 years of employee and performance management experience or equivalent education/experience
  • Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of Amazon experience
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Proficiency in English (B2+ level)
  • Experience with performance metrics, process improvements, or lean techniques for at least 1 year
