A leading company in the hygiene and microbiology field seeks a Microbiology Team Lead to manage compliance with global standards and oversee microbiological risks at their plant. This role involves leading a specialized team, conducting audits, and ensuring proper training. Candidates should have a strong academic background in microbiology or related fields, along with experience in the pharmaceutical or food sectors. English proficiency and knowledge of FDA regulations are essential.

Your Tasks

• Ensure compliance with global guidelines and regulations regarding hygiene and microbiological conditions of the plant.
• Manage microbiology team activities to ensure timely and proper microbiological analyses, and meet microbiology requirements for production areas.
• Ensure that plant systems are controlled for microbiological risks affecting finished products, raw materials, critical systems (water, compressed air, HVAC environment), personnel, areas, new equipment, and expansion projects.
• Lead investigations of out-of-specification results, analysis, and follow-up on audits, non-conformities, CAPAs related to microbiology. Participate in risk assessments for change controls from a microbiological and hygiene perspective.
• Audit the site using Micro Risk Assessment or Self Assessment to ensure hygiene and cleanliness principles are followed. Report findings, follow up with involved areas, and propose improvements to reduce microbiological risks.
• Ensure training and qualification of the microbiology team for their functions, as well as ongoing training on fundamental microbiology, hygiene, and GMPs for all personnel, contractors, visitors, and external staff.

Desired Experience

• Knowledge of microbiology and hygiene in plants producing OTC, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or food products.
• Advanced conversational English.
• Experience with QRA and investigative tools, root cause analysis.
• Proficiency in statistical software for data analysis and SAP.
• Knowledge of FDA, ICH, NOM COFEPRIS regulations.
