Are you a Human Resources expert?
Your role at BaxterThe Spec, HR is responsible for the employee lifecycle throughout all levels of the organization, including developing and participating in strategic and “best place to work” initiatives. Work in compliance with legislative and company policies. Lead labor relations activities and Union negotiations. Act as a credible business partner and provide mentorship on Human Resources and organizational issues, promoting employee engagement through corporate programs.

Comply and promote compliance of Baxter’s policies. Implement Baxter’s code of conduct, policies, and procedures, including but not limited to the Global interactions policy and Third-Party Policy.
Act as a strategic partner to the Operations team; support in the implementation of the interpersonal culture, conduct communications meetings to advise and empower the company’s personnel, labor negotiations, assure compliance of personnel policies, planning and strategies to meet fulfillment expectations, and make recommendations for improvement initiatives for business results achievements.
Partner with the talent acquisition lead where needed for recruitment, selection procedures, and hiring processes and act as a key player in the onboarding and early engagement process.
Also partner on employer branding to ensure Baxter Tijuana is a destination of choice.
Follow procedures to develop “best place to work” initiatives that drive employee motivation, diversity, high performer retention, and positive work environment.
Participate in labor relations activities and negotiations with Union; build positive relationships with the Union, promoting positive interaction with associates. Work in accordance with strategic Human Resource initiatives and meet budget plans.
Follow HR programs and processes to enable ongoing strategic growth of talent in the plant.
Ensure a positive work environment through proactive communication program development and execution.
Help with the performance management system, employee development, and training needs, programs, plans, and controls.
Responsible for planning, implementation, and compliance with legislative and company rules concerning labor law, safety environment, and work conditions.
Proactively partner with employees and associates to provide counsel on Human Resource and interpersonal issues.
Act as an ambassador of the employer branding with interns and Universities. Coordinate employee engagement initiatives including internal sports tournaments, Christmas Party, birthday celebrations, Community events with Adopted School or equivalent experience and Public Hospitals.
Participate in special projects such as driving a successful internship program. Responsible for maintaining the Master file for hourly associates (Payroll System).
Responsible for processing attendance control for weekly payroll. Follow the training system (ensure we have the training records updated in our system) and fulfill legal requirements.
Responsible for following up monthly meetings with employee committees including Training, Social Responsibility, and others.
Develop & maintain HR metrics as needed and present findings on trends/risks.
Support the HR lead and plant leaders with interpretation of ‘plant health’ through HR metrics to ensure the best outcomes.
Work together with supervisors to follow up on associates’ behaviors, ensuring they evaluate their personnel on time.
Provide coaching and mentorship to support the development of leadership skills. Responsible for employee terminations when needed. Continue to focus on own continuing professional development needs.
1. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Labor Relations & Administration or related field.
2. Successful progression of Human Resources leadership with proven experience.
3. Labor relations experience and Union negotiations. Experience as an HR Rep, HR Specialist or Generalist is accepted.
4. Advanced level of English. Experience in the manufacturing sector.
