Wallenius Wilhelmsen is seeking an HR Supervisor to oversee recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and employee relations across Mexico. You will partner with managers to ensure regulatory compliance, workforce engagement, and effective HR operations in a dynamic, global logistics environment.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Organizational Psychology, HR Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years as HR Coordinator/HR Supervisor/HR Manager.
  • Experience in payroll, labor relations, training, and employee engagement.
  • Experience with labor law compliance, audits, KPI reporting, and employee relations.
  • Experience in union environments is preferred.

Responsabilidades

  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and IMSS registration; ensure proper employee documentation.
  • Provide guidance on labor relations, disciplinary actions, vacations, leaves, and termination processes.
  • Coordinate payroll incidents and processes using Kronos; review adjustments and deductions.
  • Lead annual HR training plan and ensure STPS training compliance.
  • Coordinate employee benefit administration and engagement activities.

Join Our Team We are looking for a Human Resources Supervisor with strong leadership skills, employee focus, and experience in human resources management to oversee and coordinate HR processes, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and values while promoting employee integration, engagement, and job satisfaction. This position will be responsible for supporting recruitment, employee relations, personnel administration, training, payroll processes, and compliance activities, acting as a strategic partner for employees, supervisors, and management teams.

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Onboarding
  • Ensure compliance with employee file management policies by reviewing and validating new hire documentation.
  • Review technical, medical, and psychometric evaluations to support effective candidate selection.
  • Coordinate new employee registration processes with the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) and internal HR systems such as Workday and IDSE Cloud.
  • Ensure successful onboarding and integration of new employees according to company policies.
  • Follow up on probationary periods and promote effective feedback between employees and their direct supervisors.
  • Provide guidance to administrative employees regarding the use of major medical expense insurance benefits.
Employee Relations
  • Provide guidance and support to managers, supervisors, and team leaders regarding labor relations topics, disciplinary actions, vacations, leaves of absence, and employee management.
  • Support employee termination processes in coordination with operational and administrative areas, ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements.
  • Provide guidance regarding severance processes and final settlements.
  • Coordinate communication with Labor Relations and Regional Human Resources Management regarding labor issues, legal matters, audits, and employee relations cases.
  • Support investigations related to workplace environment and employee relations, following established authorization processes.
  • Conduct training and communication campaigns regarding Internal Work Regulations, Code of Conduct, and Employee Handbook.
  • Ensure timely and accurate employee termination processing in Workday.
Personnel Administration
  • Perform regular site visits to address employee needs and provide HR support related to uniforms, transportation, cafeteria services, payroll, and other personnel requirements.
  • Maintain accurate HR system information and ensure compliance with administrative processes.
  • Coordinate uniform requests and distribution according to company policies.
  • Manage employee benefit administration, including major medical expense insurance, life insurance, and related employee services.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required HR information and documentation.
  • Follow up with operational teams regarding employee position changes and job classification updates.
  • Coordinate employee engagement and motivation activities with the HR team.
  • Provide support and guidance regarding employee benefit claims and procedures.
Training and Development
  • Implement and follow up on the annual Human Resources training plan.
  • Ensure compliance with legal training requirements established by the Mexican Ministry of Labor (STPS).
  • Promote employee development through training initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
Payroll Administration
  • Review and coordinate payroll incidents through Kronos according to established payroll schedules.
  • Validate the correct application of payroll adjustments, bonuses, deductions, disability documentation, savings fund loans, and other employee payroll-related processes.
  • Perform periodic reviews of payroll incident approvals to ensure accurate employee payments.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Organizational Psychology, Human Resources Management, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a Human Resources Coordinator, HR Supervisor, or HR Manager.
  • Experience in personnel administration, recruitment and selection processes, payroll management, labor relations, training, and employee engagement.
  • Experience handling labor law compliance, government and private audits, KPI reporting, and employee relations.
  • Experience working with union environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of Human Resources processes and personnel administration.
  • Knowledge of Mexican Federal Labor Law and HR compliance practices.
  • Experience with payroll processes and HR systems.
  • Knowledge of recruitment and selection methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Language

Intermediate to advanced English with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional environment.

Availability

Availability to travel when HR support is required at other company sites (approximately 40%).
