The HR Business Partner – Operations is responsible for supporting all HR-related needs for the entire Operations Department, with a focus on developing leaders and retaining top talent. This role collaborates closely with leaders of the Operations teams, including VP Operations, Plant Manager, Production, Warehouse, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Quality. The HR Business Partner –
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead HR-related objectives for the Operations Team
- Partner with and provide guidance to the Shelter HR representative and the VapoMex nurse
- Develop and implement development plans with leaders
- Monitor, evaluate, and hold leaders accountable for team performance
- Serve as the primary HR resource for the Operations Team, addressing all personnel needs
- Investigate employee relations issues and ensure proper documentation
- Coordinate key HR processes: Performance Reviews, Compensation Adjustments, Talent Reviews, Training & Development, etc.
- Coach leaders and peers on performance management and conflict resolution
- Focus on retaining top talent
- Lead organizational change initiatives and communication strategies
- Build talent pipelines, succession plans, and organizational design strategies
- Engage with Operations Teams through various meetings such as 1:1s, team sessions, stand-ups, VapoMex office hours, and monthly assemblies
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with compensation analysis and tracking
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and training for the Operations Team
- Participate in social committees, event planning, engagement initiatives, and competitions
- Contribute to committees such as Safety, EHS, and Compliance
- Act as the point of contact for external partners like Shelter, landscaping, janitorial services, etc.
The HR Business Partner – Operations requires written and verbal fluency in English at a C1 level or higher.
- 3-5 years of HR experience in a manufacturing or maquiladora setting, preferably with a Shelter company
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Strong communication and organizational skills, especially with sensitive information
- Project management experience is a plus
- Desire to learn, high performance standards, enjoyment of new challenges, and initiative-taking
- Strong integrity and passion, as the role involves making decisions on behalf of the company
- Ability to work well with people, systems, and organizational structures
