Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions Mexico is seeking an experienced regional purchasing leader to establish regional strategies, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost efficiency across the automotive business. You will align with global purchasing standards and partner with Sales, Product Management and Finance to deliver value.

The role requires a bachelor's degree and 10+ years in purchasing or sourcing within automotive, plus fluency in English and Spanish.

• 10+ years of experience in Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing or SCM within automotive industry.
• Proven leadership experience managing purchasing teams and supplier relationships.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.

Responsabilidades

• Establish and implement regional purchasing strategies, policies, guidelines, and procedures.
• Lead supplier selection, development, negotiation, and partnership management for competitive performance.
• Establish budget and monitor purchasing metrics including cost savings and supplier performance.
• Oversee development and optimization of regional supplier base for growth and value.
• Co-decide on internal or external sourcing strategies, including make-or-buy evaluations.
• Plan and prioritize purchasing resources, budgets, and cost targets.
• Identify and mitigate purchasing risks including logistics disruptions and tariff exposure.
• Ensure cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Product Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, Operations.
• Lead, develop, and coach regional purchasing team; accountability and execution discipline.
• Hold disciplinary reporting for assigned Corporate Global roles.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Establish and implement regional purchasing strategies, policies, guidelines, and procedures in alignment with global purchasing standards and business requirements.
• Lead supplier selection, development, negotiation, and partnership management to ensure competitive performance in Quality, Cost, Delivery, Innovation and Compliance.
• Establish budget and monitor purchasing performance metrics, including cost savings, cost avoidance, payment terms, supplier performance, amongst others.
• Oversee the development and optimization of the regional supplier base to support business growth, competitiveness, resilience, and long-term value creation.
• Co-decide on internal or external sourcing strategies, including make-or-buy evaluations, supplier nomination, and regional sourcing decisions.
• Plan and prioritize purchasing resources, budgets, cost targets, and improvement initiatives across the assigned organizational unit.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate purchasing and supplier-related risks, including capacity limitations, supplier dependency, logistics disruptions, tariff exposure, and compliance risks.
• Ensure cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Product Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, Operations within the region and globally to align purchasing activities with business priorities.
• Lead, develop, and coach the regional purchasing team, fostering accountability, collaboration, professional growth, and strong execution discipline.
• Hold disciplinary reporting responsibility for assigned Corporate Global roles, ensuring effective people management, development, performance feedback, and alignment between regional execution and global functional priorities.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing or Supply Chain Management within the automotive industry.
• Proven leadership experience managing purchasing teams and supplier relationships.
• Strong negotiation, cost optimization and supplier development skills.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
