Department Description:

Salesforce's Employee Success (ES) team delivers world-class HR experiences powered by secure, scalable systems and data. The HRIS team plays a crucial role in enabling global workforce processes, partnering with DET/IT, Compliance, and HR leaders to safeguard data access, optimize system functionality, and troubleshoot complex technical issues. We are seeking an expert who blends deep system expertise with operational problem-solving and strategic leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Security Governance & Intake: Manage security intake and implementation across Workday and related systems, ensuring adherence to compliance and business requirements. Develop and maintain security & system governance models & processes. Serve as the point of contact for escalations and stakeholder engagement related to access and provisioning logic for ES/core specific roles. Drive documentation and process improvement around user access, audit controls, and compliance protocols.
  • Complex HRIS Issue Troubleshooting: Act as the primary Tier 3 escalation point for technical issues requiring deep understanding of business processes and system behavior. Replicate, diagnose, and resolve issues across modules such as Workday HCM, Recruiting, Benefits, Time and Attendance, Reporting, as well as other HR systems including Beqom, Salesforce, etc. Collaborate with DET/IT Platform and Product to escalate system bugs, propose fixes, or test configuration changes. Support root cause analysis and implement solutions or workarounds with appropriate documentation.
  • Operational Planning & Project Support: Lead planning and execution of cutover and hypercare strategies for major projects, in partnership with Data Program Managers (if applicable) and Program Leads. Develop operational playbooks for system changes, including stakeholder alignment and support readiness. Anticipate downstream impacts of changes on Tier 1/Tier 2/Tier 3 and ensure seamless transition of support processes. Coordinate security and systems testing during UAT and go-lives.
  • Governance & Strategic Collaboration: Represent HRIS in the ES Data Governance Council, contributing to decisions around secure data usage, system access, and process alignment in partnership with Office of Data, Privacy, Business Intelligence, and Legal. Partner with Global Ops to assess impacts of system changes on support models. Influence automation, tooling, and case handling strategies to streamline resolution paths and improve response quality. Partner with Product and Compliance to validate requirements and ensure secure, scalable delivery.
An Ideal Fit
  • Brings both a security mindset and systems troubleshooting expertise across the HRIS landscape.
  • Understands global HR processes and how they are configured and executed in enterprise systems like Workday.
  • Is hands-on with troubleshooting — comfortable with replicating, validating, resolving, and escalating issues as needed.
  • Communicates clearly across technical and business audiences, driving alignment and accountability.
  • Excels in environments where process, compliance, user experience, and system scalability intersect.
Required Experience
  • 7–10 years of experience in HRIS, HR technology, or HR systems governance roles.
  • Proficiency in Workday across multiple modules (HCM, Benefits, Recruiting, Absence, Security).
  • Demonstrated success in resolving complex business process or configuration issues.
  • Strong understanding of system security (RBP/segment-based), audit, and compliance protocols (SOX/QAR).
  • Experience supporting large-scale system implementations and operational cutovers.
Desired Experience
  • Familiarity with other HR tools such as Beqom, Salesforce/PeopleForce, or ticketing platforms.
  • Experience managing cross-functional support models or collaborating across Tier 1–3.
  • Exposure to GDPR, CCPA, or internal governance councils.
  • Certifications in HR systems, security, or auditing (e.g., Workday Pro, CIPM, CISA).
  • Experience with Smartsheet, Jira, or system documentation tools.
