Tenneco in Puebla, Mexico seeks a GL Senior Accountant who ensures accounting integrity across the Central Shared Service Center, the Mexican Holding company and US-Lighting ledger. You will report to the Finance Director PT-Mexico and handle end-to-end GL tasks with a focus on month-end close and audits.

Candidates should have 3–5 years in GL/AP, GAAP knowledge, ERP experience (SAP/Mfg Pro/Plex), and strong communication skills.

Formación

  • 3-5 years in GL and accounts payable roles (supervisor/senior)
  • Experience in financial planning: forecast, budget & reporting
  • MS Office proficiency; ERP experience (SAP/Mfg Pro/Plex)
  • Solid GAAP knowledge and internal control understanding
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; English (intermediate)

Responsabilidades

  • Daily activities in Central Shared Service Center incl. vendor creation, payments
  • Maintain general ledger; reconcile subsidiary accounts; prepare trial balance
  • Prepare financial statements; support month-end and year-end close
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and assist SOX testing
  • Coordinate internal and external audits; data backups and confidentiality
  • Assist budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting processes

About the Role

The GL Senior accountant will be directly report to the Finance Director PT-Mexico and is responsible to ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions in the Central Shared Service Center, Mexican Holding company and US-Lighting ledger.

Responsabilities:
  • Daily administrative activities for the Central shared service Center, as request vendor creation, prepare payment run, and ensure on time payments
  • Internal control processes and procedures for the Purchase to pay process an communicate to the Central shared service center team
  • Travel expense control and HR support for fuel and travel cards.
  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
  • Summarizes financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
  • Secures financial information by completing database backups.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
  • Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process.
  • Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule.
  • Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
  • Assist SOX compliance plus testing for entire CSS, Holding and US-lighting entities.
  • Audits and approves employee expense report submissions.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business-related field.

Required Skills
  • Proven experience of 3-5 years as a GL and account payable accountant accounting supervisor, chief or senior accountant.
  • With experience in Financial planning activities as Forecast, Budget and Reporting.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). MS Access experience preferred.
  • System experience with SAP, Mfg Pro, Plex or similar ERP system is preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Internal control procedures, Planning and reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • English intermediate level.
  • Demonstrates speed and flexibility as appropriate in responding and adapting to changes.
  • Promotes cooperation within the team and between teams.
  • Demonstrates the ability to adapt to a challenging and developing environment; willingness to take on new responsibilities as our business evolves.
