Accenture México is seeking an Akamai Architect to lead strategy and technical design for Akamai solutions, improving website performance, security, and user experience. You will collaborate with development, network, security teams and stakeholders to deliver scalable, cost-efficient CDNs and security solutions.

The role requires deep expertise in CDN technologies, web performance, application security, and cloud infrastructure, with hands-on experience in GCP/AWS/Azure and multi-CDN strategies.

The Role:

An Akamai Architect leads the strategy and technical design for utilizing Akamai products and services to improve website performance, security, and user experience. They collaborate closely with development teams, network engineers, security teams, and business stakeholders to provide solutions that optimize content delivery, security, and network performance. This role typically requires deep expertise in CDN technologies, web performance, application security, and cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities & Activities:

• Solution Design & Architecture:
• Develop tailored architecture designs that leverage Akamai's CDN, security, and performance optimization tools.
• Analyze customer requirements and design robust, scalable, and cost-efficient content delivery and security solutions.
• Architect solutions for reducing latency, improving content caching, and delivering secure, high-performance applications.
• Collaborate with product managers and technical teams to integrate Akamai solutions with existing infrastructure.
• Performance Optimization:
• Implement Akamai's performance optimization features such as content caching, front-end optimizations (FEO), and image or media optimization.
• Design strategies to reduce load times, handle traffic spikes, and improve site responsiveness.
• Monitor and tune configurations to maintain peak web application performance.
• Security Architecture:
• Design and configure Akamai Web Application Firewalls (WAF), DDoS protection, bot management, and other security solutions.
• Ensure robust security policies to protect applications from vulnerabilities and attacks.
• Regularly review security metrics and recommend adjustments to mitigate emerging threats.
• Content Delivery & Network Management:
• Develop strategies to optimize the delivery of static and dynamic content to users across different geographies.
• Implement and manage routing, failover, and load-balancing configurations.
• Optimize and troubleshoot routing and delivery through Akamai's edge servers for efficient network management.
• Technical Leadership & Support:
• Lead and mentor teams through the deployment and configuration of Akamai solutions.
• Provide technical support and guidance during pre-sales activities, proof-of-concept (PoC) phases, and production deployments.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, best practices, and standards for Akamai implementations.
• Monitoring & Analytics:
• Set up monitoring tools to track performance, availability, and security metrics of web applications delivered via Akamai.
• Analyze logs, usage patterns, and analytics data to provide insights on optimization opportunities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to content delivery, application performance, and security.
• Stakeholder Collaboration:
• Work closely with business stakeholders, developers, and IT teams to ensure alignment between business goals and technical solutions.
• Collaborate with Akamai's technical account managers and product teams for updates on the latest features and technologies.

8 Technical Skills Required:

• Expertise in Akamai products like Akamai CDN, Web Performance Solutions, Kona Site Defender (WAF), Ion, Adaptive Media Delivery, Image Manager, etc.
• Strong understanding of web performance tuning (caching strategies, load balancing, etc.).
• Experience with DNS management, SSL/TLS, and network protocols (HTTP, TCP/IP).
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for automation (CI/CD, Terraform, Jenkins).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Requirements:

• Deep expertise in Akamai product suite (CDN, WAF, Ion, Image Manager)
• Proven experience architecting low-latency, high-availability content delivery solutions
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as the primary cloud infrastructure backbone - including VPCs, IAM, Cloud Armor, and Cloud Interconnect
• Strong hands-on knowledge of DNS management, SSL/TLS termination, and routing protocols (HTTP/TCP/IP)
• 5+ years of experience in CDN/Network Architecture or Cloud Infrastructure Engineering
• Programming/Scripting proficiency (Python, Bash, or JavaScript) for custom edge logic (EdgeWorkers)
• Multi-CDN strategy and failover orchestration (e.g., Cloudflare, Fastly alongside Akamai)
• Familiarity with AWS (CloudFront) or Azure (Front Door) for multi-cloud hybrid strategies
• DevOps pipeline integration (CI/CD with Jenkins/GitLab CI for property deployment automation)
• Advanced analytics and log analysis (Elasticsearch/Splunk for WAF and access log parsing)
